Text alert query

Hi

I have got the basic Pulse with no ROM etc, however I have recently changed to Panda Home and using the HTC Hero theme.

One thing I have noticed is that where as before if I had missed the audiable text alert, the next time I looked at my phone I would have had a notification box telling me who the new text was from and an option to click 'open' or 'read' (can't remember which). Now though I dont see that, I just see the text scrolling across the notification bar at the top.

Is there a setting somewhere where I can change it so I still get the visible text notification?
