Problem with email notification

I use the standard mail application with an pop3 account (yahoo).

I ask to check mails every 15 minutes.

Unfortunately, it seems not work very good. Sometimes, I have notifications, sometimes no...

With gmail application, it works perfectly.

Someone have one idea ?

Are you saying you only get notifications when you get emails?

I just want receive notification when I receive an email on my yahoo account.

For that, I check option "check every 15 min" (or something like that)

Now, to test if everything is ok, I go to my pc and with an another mailbox, I send an email on my yahoo account.

I wait (more than 15 min) but I have no notification on my android phone.

Sometimes, the same test works (so, with my notification).

I don't understand why sometimes it works and sometimes no.

Yeah I get this too with a Yahoo account. Don't actually use my gmail account so not sure how well that works.

It seems to have improved for me since upgrading to the latest ROM (custom T-mobile one, 1.7) so maybe give that a try. Before I was not getting any notification updates at all, now they seem fairly reliable. Only checking every hour though.

I have the same problem with a configured Hotmail account (pop3).

Most of the times I do get a notification when a new email has arrived, but occassionally I also get a notification of a new email which was actually an old email (which I received a few days back even).

I have T-Mobile 1.7 custom rom installed.

Anyone else experiencing the same problems ?
