Guest Iggy82 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Not so much an issue, but an annoyance. I was a little disappointed by the Nexus battery life, I needed to charge it daily as it was losing charge so quickly. However, after reading around several forums, I've found that disabling GPS when not required and switching to a static wallpaper, I have achieved much better battery life, I still have 40% battery after full charge from complete discharge yesterday at 3.00pm. Bare in mind this is with a lot of useage!
Guest xPatriicK Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Agreed. I noticed that you have a much longer battery life when using a static wallpaper, no GPS when not used and no sync
Guest sthoeft Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 (edited) Best is not to use the phone anyway. Serious, how much are you guys using the N1 a normal day? I use it quite often for Internet and my job and do also about 30 min music and about 40 min Movie a day and a few SMS and a few minutes talk. The battery is flat at the time I got to bed (wakeup at 6:45 and bedtime around 22:00 h) but who cares, charge it over night and be ready for another day. I have sync, GPS and Live Wallpapers activated and I'm also fortunate to live in a house witch is connected to the electric power grid so no problem with charging over night ;-) . Guest Jonnyw2k Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) Looking at battery use in the setting it appears the screen is what uses up most of my power :) 20% after 12hours 24mins 51% Display - time on 2hours 31mins = quick maths 6hours 15mins with screen on will take phone from 100% to 0% 26% Cell Standby 2% Live Wallpapers Edited January 25, 2010 by Jonnyw2k
Guest Zephyron Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 apparently hi aim beta sucks up a lot of cell standby % too. it is constantly "awake" and drains my battery like no other. anyone else got this?
Guest soneedu Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Many thanks, some idea to save battery. I have an idea that try to shift some application started automaticly to non-auto start. but i do not how to do. I already use static wallpaper, it is enough. look forward some expierenced guys can give us more good suggestions.
Guest HaggleLad Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 I also noticed the other day that the Google Talk app service is constantly running. Launching "Talk", opening the settings and unchecking "Automatic Sign-in" (which is set by factory default) has saved me some battery for sure.

Launching "Talk", opening the settings and unchecking "Automatic Sign-in" (which is set by factory default) has saved me some battery for sure. Thanks for that! I didn't noticed that there are options to make. Great, I didn't want to talk with google talk at my work. So I can sign me up if I want and not if google or nexus want! Thanks again, bro.
Guest ZeroXtreme Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 It also helps a lot if you don't use the HSDPA/3G network often or don't use it at all, to check the option for "Use only 2G network"
