Guest drums100 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 (edited) Hi all While at work today I received a message on my TG01 that said something along the lines of " There is an update available for your handset, connect to windows PC to continue". As I was at work I had to dismiss the message and it hasn't showed since. Has anyone else received this and tried it? I was reading the topic on poor quality call and someone was told by toshiba that there was an update coming, perhaps this is it. Although probably not if no-one else got this message. I'm already on winmo 6.5 incase you are wondering. Lastly, I currently do not own a windows pc and only have a mac, is it still possible to get this update if I receive the message again? cheers Edited January 21, 2010 by drums100

All I got was the same old update. No new update for me yet. I'm on Orange, UK. I did get an email from Toshiba after several emails to them, saying that they were working on an update. It took me a long time to get a response, and there was no apology for the inconvenience of the software faults, or any explanation for the problems reported. Even if they fix this, it will be a long time before I consider buying a phone from Toshiba. Their support is like an insult, considering the fact I bought their product and have stayed loyal despite 6 months of problems.

I also asked specifically about non-branded ROMs becoming available and the reply to that was that there wouldn't be. Guest serialkillazzs Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 i asked them a further question regards 20% power restriction and specifically asked why they have not posted an update on there own site, instead of waiting for operators to give them the green light. i basically said u make the device, surely you should know if your call quality, sound level fix/update is working!!! i also asked them when it will be available but i don't think they now themselves. plus i actually cheekily said your computers are good builds and run generally alright, why not tg01, no reply! maybe sometime this year update will be released! reply below Dear Toshiba Customer Thank you for contacting Toshiba Mobile Communications. Guest useyourfist Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 i wouldnt hold your breath i got a text from orange today saying there is an update for tg01 on there site got all excited lol went to site and its just a link to the 6.5 download on tosh site what a joke did they not no the sold me a phone with this already on it. lets just hope tg01 gets hacked soon.

Guest adzman808 Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 i got a msg (that has now disapeared) that amounted to 'hi & welcome to windows mobile - if you connect your phone to a PC there may be an update for you' this was after i've had the phone about a month... there's a 'updates' section in active sync as was (which seems to do sweet f a) cheers

This will give you access to the Microsoft® Marketplace applications store and My Phone, together with a choice of home screens. http://www1.orange.ch/residential_support....-phones_toshiba nothing on the toshiba site... by gut feeling (what ever thats worth) is the any call quality fix will come from orange...
