Guest gpw11 Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Hi, I've been banging my head against the wall trying to find the ideal RSS feed reader: -Viigo: Great interface, fast updates, and well organized. What killed it for me is that you can't make it store the cache on anything but main memory. Well, that and it automatically uses IE to view a lot of the stories...which isn't so touch friendly. Also, some feeds just won't seem to work with it. -BeyondPod: Great for podcasts, but doesn't have the best interface for a reader. Also, not so scroll friendly once you move to full articles. -SPB News: Fantastic UI and very good for use with fingers. No categorization, however, and it takes forever to update feeds....seriously, forever. -Smart RSS. Google Reader client. Seems good so far, but the "browsing" isn't the best. Don't really know at the moment - just trying it out. NewsGator Go! is one I've heard great things about, but it really doesn't look all that finger-friendly. So, what do all of you use? Anything great I'm missing?
Guest Chimp Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 I went through the same thing, trying to find the 'perfect' RSS reader; nothing out there that really works well with WinMo 6.5.x. I used to use NewsBreak and that was the best one I had found since it had everything (RSS feeds, podcasting, etc) but it was VERY un-fingerfriendly. I wanted something easier to use. Finally settled on GoNews from SBSH Software. It's not perfect - a little slow, and no podcast feeds, but it is very finger friendly and works well. SBSH has been constantly updating it and it runs a lot better than the first 1.0 release did! GoNews is the one I have settled on (so far). Hopefully they will add podcasting directly into the app sometime soon. /Chimp
Guest dopeness Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 i have looked myself. I have just settled with the stock DR. DoT RSS reader. The bad thing is that in later windows builds the functionality changes (as far as menu button options working). It does what it is designed to do. I just wish I could schedule updates so I don't have to wait and download information manually.

It's actually pretty much what I've been looking for. Not all that into downloading podcasts at this point, but the only downside I can see so far is that it takes a while to update...not nearly as long as SPB News though.
