Guest WVGA Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Hi, Just for my future rom editing, I'd like to know what you guys prefer. 1) 3 or 5 homescreens on your Liquid ? 2) do you use Acer widgets when having 3 screens ? Thx for your answers. PS : don't get too much excited. I'm new to the android community but I'm willing to get my hands on it. See you !

Guest Piter1225 Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 5 homescreens, use only Acers Web widget
Guest drigerott Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Now i'm using 3 homescreen and i don't like acer widget :) The real problem is that you can't choose like home replacement app, how many homescreen you want... you must push Launcher to do that...and infact i prefer to use GDE
Guest mrsoko Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 5 homescreen without acer's widget :)
Guest Lorents Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 5 homescreens, no Acer widgets :)
Guest daft009 Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 5 home screens. no acer widgets on 3 screens might use if I had 5
Guest 0rsa Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 (edited) I've got 3 Desktop but I'm using rarely the two others desktops. I understand the interest of many desktops on a computer with Ubuntu for example because I can launch different applications on different desktops but it doesn't work like that on a smartphone: the applications are launched with full screen so i don't see the interest except to impress people with many widgets often useless daily. The Android's menu is enough for me to launch applications fastly provided you haven't 100+ useless applications. I got only the necessary and the default menu is good made to launch fastly. Imo of course :) Edited January 21, 2010 by 0rsa
Guest Mux_Mux Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 5 homescreens & no Acer widgets :)

Guest malez Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 5 screen and acer widget (wifi, bluetooth, gps, sync, light one)
Guest pajn Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 5 screens + media player/web player
Guest trispect Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 5 screens + currently Acer Widgets for Media and bookmark browsing
Guest Andy__P Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 I currently use 5 desktops because i use a Home replacement which only has a 4x4 grid instead the stock liquid 4x5. (haven't found one with 4x5) Maybe if it had 4x5 i could live with 3 :)
Guest chunga Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 5 screens + media player/web player
Guest Seth Cold Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 any advantage of having just 3 screens?? i dont see it...
Guest Juan_OX Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 3 screens + acer media & web widgets... ¿any way to have 5 screens without install ahome, gde or similar ones?
Guest Angio Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 5 screens is a must, due to all the new widgets and apps, not only that but having 5 screens completely makes the phone 100% "YOU" :)
Guest Seth Cold Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 7 please... :) oh good old sense ui hehehe spoiler!!
Guest dawabz94 Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 (edited) basic 3 home middle = pure calendar widget (4x2) + 2xweather forecast widget + some basic apps (browser/sms/mms/mail/facebook/seesmic) left = meridian (2x4) widget + wifi toggle + bluetooth toggle + cam and picture viewers + market and file manager right = nearly empty (only some AnyCut widget for fast battery info + fast 2G/3G switch) I was using acer webPlayer widget but slows down the phone too much noticed thet too much widget slows down the device and eats battery also was fed up with scrolling from 1st left home to last right home, takes too much time and kills my thumb :) I use "folders" to group access to games into only one icon That's my contribution :) Edited January 22, 2010 by dawabz94
Guest masterpfa Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 oh good old sense ui hehehe spoiler!! 5 screens should be enough, 3 just doesn't seem to be enough, 7 sometimes overkill :)
Guest Umka Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Definitely 3. One for Games, One for Internet Stuff and main form most Used apps like dialer, calender etc. if there are too many screens, it is a pain to go to the very left/right one. However, you can always only put stuff on 3 screens and left the extremes empty. So many is not bad.
Guest manthoR Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 I use the 5 screens offer by angio's great rom :) [parameters and systems stuff] [quick contacts] [classicmain] [news] [social networking] My opinion is that Acer must stop any software developpement. I hate both carousel...
Guest joas74 Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 I have 5 screens and Acer bookmark widget. 5 is a minimum since that widget takes half the screen :-P
