Guest discokrueger Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 (edited) I like to watch "Swisscom Mobile TV", wich is only accessable for branded phones, normally. I heard, that, if I change the user agent to something like "(compatible; MSIE 6.0; Winows CE; IEMobile 6.12) /Swisscom/v1605", it's possible to watch it. I know the trick with "about:debug" (http://androidforums.com/sprint-htc-hero/2...id-browser.html). But there, I can only choose between iPhone, Desktop and Android. I cannot edit the string. Is there a way to edit the string in the default browser? Is it possible in Dolphin? Edited March 26, 2010 by discokrueger
Guest Bantumi Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 hmm.. there probably is some text in one of the system folders you can change.. but most likely it still won't work. I tried a few websites that are iphone friendly and they basically try and stream in quicktime format... which of course doesn't work for us (not that i want it). I would recommend trying the website using a desktop browser first, to make sure you're not wasting time.
Guest discokrueger Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 (edited) I found it, it's stored in /data/data/com.android.browser/shared_prefs/com.android.browser_preferences.xml But, it didn't work at all. I tried also with firefox and faked User Agent --> also no page is shown (live.swisscom-mobile.ch) Does anybody know, what else is to fake, that swisscom thinks I'm coming from a HTC Magic? (They have the Magic branded) Edited January 22, 2010 by discokrueger
Guest Bantumi Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Well they may also be able to identify you via something like the phone's mac address? Or more likely, the sim sends some kind of unique ID to these places? I don't know how this works, but i do know that Orange UK can somehow tell who to charge to if i buy something via their website on my phone. Last thing i can recommend is try and find someone with an HTC Magic and find what their user agent is.. try it on your home PC. I'm sorry to say i don't think it will work though! Alex
Guest discokrueger Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 Swisscom has a new Portal, calld "Swisscom TV air". I changed the UA in the xml-file to: <string name="default_ua_string">Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 1.6; de-ch; HTC Magic Build/DRC92) AppleWebKit/528.5+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.2 Mobile Safari/525.20.1</string> Now, Swisscom think's i'm comming with a HTC Magic and I can play the stream.

Hi, i just try what you have done, but it doesn't work for me, i'm on a nexus one, and I change the line "<string name="web_user_agent">0</string>" and replace 0 to what you have... Do you have a solution for me ;) ?
