Hi Guys,

my name is Nik i'm from Germany.

First off: You do a great job! I'm glad there are lots of Omnia Pro Users with helpful advices.

Since this is a english Board, i guess there will only be WWE Light Roms for the B7610 in the future...am i right?

However, is it possible to lighten the pre-installed 6.5 Rom ? I don't want to install a new light rom, i just need some more ram to work.

So, how do i delete programs such as "Video Editor" "Smart Reader" "Calculator" "Bing Search" etc... If deleting is not possible, can i dump the actual rom and remove those apps i dont like and flash it back to my omnia pro?

Just let me know how to get this phone working fast!

I'm Running Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional "CE OS 5.2.21863 (Build 21863.5.0.67)" by Vodafone Germany.

PDA: B7610NXXIJ3

CSC: B7610VD2IH7

TELEFON: B7610BUIH2

Thanks a lot and best regards from Germany :)

I thinke it would be easier to make a uninstaller that removes all this junk than to make a new ROM.

Are you sure that the uninstaller will work with all the ROM versions that we have? :)

If someone could make a unisatller to remove all this junk in WinMo 6.5 ROMs then yes im sure it will work on all ROMs versions WinMo its not really a big different than a Windows PC.

Im new to WinMo i will need more time to do this but this will be easier for me than doing a moded Windows XP.

This option has also only avantages:

1. No warranty problems.

2. One uninstaller that removes all junk from a Phone or separate uninstaller to remove only thinks like google maps that could even be used in other Phones like HTC if they dont have changed the installation path.

3. More easy then flashing a costume ROM.

4. Easy to update than a costume ROMs if a new WinMo version is out.

5. Works on all version Models.

I think that every ROM version contains different releases of bloatware, so for example if the universal uninstaller was tested to remove specific versions of touchwiz, google maps, adobe acrobat etc, it will fail to remove later versions. That will be the "less bad" case. In worst case the uninstaller can change some registry keys so you will have new problems. This is my opinion. But I agree with points 1 and 3 :)

New bloatware versions are mosty only file updates and even if they add a new file its not a big problem.

Im new at WinMo but the first think i have see is that WinMo is the same as a Windows PC but this was also not a big surprise to me.

And bloatware versions are mostly the same as the normal versions you download form the Internet the difference is that the default installation path is normally not "Program Files".

Oh there is also a point 6 Supports all Languages :)

those apps are in ROM, read only memory, so you can't "uninstall" them.

You must rebuild a new ROM without those apps.

Why are they in ROM?

The exe / dll in the MODULES section of ROM are specially processed before getting put into ROM.

Most of the headers are removed and the addresses are fixed up so that the programs can run without having to be loaded into RAM first.

This saves RAM and performance later on.
