Facebook contact sync changes contact name

When i go to sync a certain contact lets say i have a friend of mine saved in my phone book as Art, i go to sync him with facebook and his name there is Arthur John Michael, it changes my contact name to his full facebook name and i can not change it back to Art. Is there a workaround to this its kinda annoying.

I have noticed a few names have remained as the nick names but cannot figure out why..... I've also noticed that if you tried renaming Arthur John Michael as Gifford it will work but obviously it isn't a solution!

Check your syncing options? Try only syncing the contacts who are already in your phone .... as opposed to all of them.

I have 265 contacts in my phone with about 65% of them on FB with no issues.

wow nanu i just did what you said and its weird it actually will change it to something stupid like "Tard Face" but it wont change it to Art...wtf why is that?

p.s. and that doesnt seem to work for every contact but it worked for that one...so weird

Yes I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure it out, this is just another think I miss from the Hero where you could link to a contact on FaceBook without it ruining your contacts....

Roll on the Bravo being released and someone clever bringing Sense to the Nexus
