Guest GreatDane Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Just picked up a Nexus One a couple days ago, and after playing around with it, I realize that I really, really miss my multi-touch from my iPhone. I looked around, and understand that I need to gain root access to the phone, but it's just not happening. I download Fastboot and Superboot, but whenever I go into the command prompt and run the program according to the instructions, it just hangs and hangs on the "waiting for device" line. I've tried it in both "Fastboot USB" mode and "HBOOT" mode. am I missing something? Thanks, GD
Guest xkonni Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 which step are you trying to do? first you need to unlock the bootloader, then install superboot...
Guest joners Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 The multi touch currently only works in the broswer as far as im aware. There already is a free app on the market place, Dolphin Browser that supports multi touch, why not give that a shot first of all. :)

I actually got it figured out last night after posting this... I was trying to unlock the boot loader, and it couldn't find my phone. Turns out that while I had installed the USB drivers, they weren't loading properly when I connected my phone. Got that taken care of and then, sunuvabitch, that little "void your warranty" thingy got me scared. I'll wait a bit to see what HTC ends up saying about blatant hardware defects and unlocked bootloaders before I mess with it. Thanks for the responses!
