Guest TonyL Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 I got the new skin and managed to get my Nexus covered during a flight to Munich! As always I find the skins from bestskinsever.com to be far better than the "other" brands and cheaper too!.. Who ever cut this out needs a pat on the back, its the best one I've seen yet for proper fit and cover.. There's no quick cuts required because it doesn't fit - this skin was 100% spot on. As always I started with the screen, that went on perfectly. I always use a tiny spray bottle filled with a very weak washing up liquid solution and a credit card to act as a squeege to run along the skin to get out any air bubbles. I spray my fingers and the sticky side of the skin skin so that I avoid any ugly fingerprint marks getting under the skin. Next I did the back and then made sure these were nicely fixed in place and had a chance to adhere properly. I tend to keep the phone between my hands and let the heat from my hands warm the moisture away from any of the skin application process. After 30 mins (and a beer and bag of peanuts courtesy of BA) on went the sides.. I took my time and made sure that I was carfull in applying the skin along the edges and the base area where the trackball is. Again I use the warmth of my hands to dry off the liquid spray and keep gently checking that its all looking good and in place properly. Another 30 mins and I was done, phone neat, dry and covered.. You may find that the screen looks as though there's glue or moisture under it. I always get this and find that as the skin warms and attaches, the marks go as it finally aheres properly top of the screen over the next few days. http://www.bestskinsever.com/servlet/the-1...One-Skin/Detail Enjoy!
Guest necosino Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Your patience is admirable, lol... So when applying the screen protector, you actually spray the side of the protector that makes contact with the phone itself?
Guest Jonnyw2k Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Did you get it shipped from america to uk?
Guest Nesousx Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Awesome work. If you were in France, I would offer you several beers in order to do this job on my Nexus. :)
Guest TonyL Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 :-) happily travel When I put the skins on the secret is to not soak the skin in water, but enough to help it slide around over the phone. Spray your fingers and then pick then skin from the white backing sheet, hold the skin up and then spray the sticky side of the skin. Another trick if you're all thumbs and fingers is to always lick your fingers first - I know its not the most hygienic way to go, but its your own phone and skin ;-) having a little water there stops ugly fingerprints from appearing. Plus, remove the battery - I forgot to mention that - otherwise you'll find that you'll switch the phone on as your manoeuvring it about. Another tip is to just take it slow and when you get to the difficult corners, gently move it in to the area you want to cover and then gently press that area of the phone in to the palm of your hand and hold it for a minute or two so that the heat from your hand speeds up the drying process. Finally, don't use kitchen - I use a nice clean hanky to hold the phone still and to use as a wipe to remove the moisture when done. I was thinking of offering some skins as a prize, no idea how to do it though.. Postage is a few $, it took 5 days from recollection. All in all you can get a skin for $10 - far cheaper than zagg.com
Guest Nesousx Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Thanks for all those information. I will give it a try, I'll keep you posted, maybe even with pictures...
Guest Nesousx Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 I did buy the same skin and applied it to my phone. It is far from perfect... but over my expectations. I will try to post picture, if I can find my camera.

Guest leigh-bee Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 thanks for the heads up - ordered one of these sunday night (21st) it arrived today (26th) and I have all but the sides left to do and it looks great, I've used the zag ones, the lifetime warranty is a joke, you try and claim and cust service is non existant and this ones applied itself so much better than the zag... Great website aswell, although the wife was worried when she saw the slogan on the envelope..."BestSkinsEver - Unhealthily obsessed with keeping your stuff shiny" :(
