Guest arirang Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) all, if your system seems to intermittently shutdown when it was put in standby/sleep, it may be an issue with the accelerometer. hold your phone about 1/4 inch above flat surface than drop like you would when emptying your pockets onto a table. it appears the abrupt g-force causes mine to shut off. it doesn't happen if i gently place on surface. My first i910 did that. I performed that little trick in front of the sales person at VZW and he immediately gave me a new phone. I'd only had it a couple of weeks at the time.

UPDATE: i reflashed my phone shortly after i posted this and the issue hasnt reoccured since. therefore, i'm returning the replacement unused. seems a software either cooked in or i installed screwed with the accelerometer. Guest nate.mcbride Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 I stopped using G-Alarm and now my phone doesn't sleep to death but every now and then. That is the only app that i've been able to track back to sleep death though, others might do it too.
