Hello

My Omnia Pro has stopped to vibrate upon screen tapping although I have made no changes to its settings. In Sounds & Notifications / Vibrations the "enable vibrations for screen taps" field remains checked. Soft reset does not help.

I am running WM 6.1 with Samsung stuff basically turned off, with Spb Mobile Shell installed.

Please help me get the tapping vibrations back.

I tried to search the registry and here is what I found:

in \HKCU\ControlPanel\TouchVibration\ there are two entries: ScreenTaps with a decimal value of 1 and TouchVibrateEnabled with decimal value of 2. Any ideas of how to change these settings in order to get screen tapping vibration back?

Please help. Anyone?

In the SPB shell i also don`t have tap vibrations. In the windows start menu i do, i don`t know why tap vibration is not working.

My settings are (vibrate is working):

ScreenTaps=1

TouchVibrateEnabled=2

VibrateType=0

So i'm afraid that your problem is elsewhere... anyway check the last one - VibrateType because you didn't mentioned it.

I deleted it because I checked an old backup and the last entry you mentioned was not there and the vibration worked. The backup is so old however that it does not solve my problem, I cannot go back that much.

If not in the registry, where to look for a solution?

As for the Spb Mobile Shell, you are right that it clearly does not support tap vibration but this is not what I meant. Now vibration seized to work even then where it had worked. I have not installed any new software.

Same issue on my Omnia II. I had to do HW reset to make it working again:-)

EDITED:

New finding - this could happen if you change intensity of vibration to 0 (I didn't know that there is such a setting...). You could easily fix it by tapping the icon for vibration/volume setting, change to vibration mode and set the level higher than 0.
