Guest AndyCr15 Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 I'm a little confused as to which is the best application to use for killing background apps. I initially paid for Taskiller, but then someone mentioned how it can drain the battery quite a bit. Now I'm using the ES File Explorer widget, which I like, in a 1x1 it shows how much memory is left and how many apps are running that shouldn't be. It would seem this perhaps uses a fair bit of battery too... So, what do you guys recommend? On the Nexus One, with more memory, is it even an issue?

Well Im currently using Advanced Task Killer Free since the RAM hack got my device to randomly restart now and then (which got a bit annoying when it decided to restart when I was backing up my nandroid backups to the computer via USB), but when I had the RAM hack running I never dipped below 80MB free RAM so a task killer wasnt exactly a must :)
Guest AndyCr15 Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 (edited) Where can I read about the 'RAM hack'? **EDIT** Also, could someone explain what is the 30M or 40M that most app killers show? Is it related to how many apps I install on the Nexus One, or are they in a different area? Edited January 29, 2010 by AndyCr15
