Guest Coms Cowboy Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 Hi I have had a look and not found the answer (probably looking in the wrong place), I have rooted my phone and installed a custom ROM which now allows me to store apps on the SD card, can I just copy the SD card just in case the one in use is corrupted? How do I go about it? and lastly does the SD card's have to be the same size? Many thanks Owen

Many thanks Owen You could either use the ADB shell to copy the apps to the FAT32 partition of the SD card then plug it in your computer and backup your SD card contents, or you could SSH into your phone to do the copy. If you are running Linux on your computer, you could simply dd the entire SD card to a file and dd the file back to a new SD card and you'll have an exact replica of your SD card. With two SD card readers, you could dd from one to the other.
Guest Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Hey, what recovery method did you use before installing your custom ROM?? I need help.. nothing will work for me :| You would normally perform a nandroid backup to your SD card so you can restore the factory ROM if all else fails and the nandroid keeps all your settings. If you've screwed up your phone settings and didn't run a nandroid backup, you can run your provider's RUU installer which will wipe the phone clean of any changes you have made and revert everything to factory settings including the radio, spl and ROM.
