Can any one help, I have performed a hard reset on my SPV and it just locks on the Orange sunrise screen. Ive tried numerous times and it just hangs there. even if left overnight.

The only thing I can think of is re-loading the CE,GSM. does anyone know where i can get the relevant files to load from my SD card

I've read posts where other people have had the same problem. I had no problem performing a hard reset, and neither did other people but it seems that it is pretty hit or miss. Did you remove your SD card when before you performed the operation? this can have an effect on the process. I would recommend following the steps in the sticky again very carefully, and maybe if you have no joy it could be time for a new SPV!!

Er, if you've just performed a hard reset, it probably will stay at the Orange screen.

You need to give it as long as it needs to come off it, it took me 15 minutes, but has been known to take half an hour and perhaps more.

the first time i performed a hard reset, i thought the phone had crashed on the orange screen and took the battery out. after that, i had no chance of getting the b*g*er to start up (got the bios scrren every time with or without holding the voice button). just wondering if you had done something similar

Hi yzbob,

I had exactly the same problem and can confirm, plugging the mains adapter in and turning the phone back on worked for me too. I was trying to turn on the phone and it stalled while loading the home screen. I didn't have my adapter on me at the time and as I'd recently backed up my ISPM dir I hard reset. This made no difference and would still not reboot past the home screen, the only solution I found was to plug it into the adapter and turn on. Irronically it happened again today. I have two batteries and it only seems to happen (have no clue why) with one of the batteries. It's when one runs flat and I change it to the other then turn the phone on.... Best solution is to get yourselves a USB snyc charge cable and carry it with you whenever you go out, much easier than carrying a mains adapter.... www.bornsloppy.co.uk has a link for these to buy from ebay.

FWIW, if you do leave the phone on, and plugged in and it still doesn't work, orange now have recommended the hard reset as a way to clear the phonebook memory, so they should take it back for repair no questions asked.

If phone stay in orange screen even after hard reset (after hard reset u have to wait about 5 in for phone to boot up) that mean u corupted the flash in the phone. U have 2 scenarios: 1 u corupted the wince, and gsm part...Solution: try to flash from other phone, 2 u corupted the secret zone (where are stored all important data and this part can't be back up on a card). Solution : NONE for normal user :) u have to send back to orange (if still warranty) or send to me for fix ;)

Perhaps if you hadn't advertised a service you ask of money for, your advice would be more reliable. I might be the only one, but I'm finding those small adverts of your services all over the forum rather annoying now. We're not idiots, and expect you to post accordingly.

As for the topic, this'd be covered by warranty, just tell Orange you switched it on and it didn't work.

Otherwise, you could re-erase your IPSM, and leave the phone on for a couple of hours (I know of an instance where this has taken 30 minutes on the contrary to florin's "advice" and still worked), and see if it's gone through.

I didn't advertise. I said in case u don't have warranty!!!!. And as the phone is just new, every user will have warranty!!! at least for 1 year.

So I don't think I advertise at all!

Anyway bealive what u want. If i want to advertise, I can ask Paul to put a banner for me!
