[FIXED!] SMS errors but is delivered

Hello!

Whenever i Send/Receive an SMS I am getting the following error:

Sorry! The application Messages (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force close.

The sms is send/received and saved wthout problems however. But it is very annoying to Close the Error popup every time. This happens EVERY time i try to send receive SMS. :)

MMS howewer works fine and does not give any errors. Any ideas how it can be solved? is there any option to disable Error messages popus?

Opening and reading SMS that were already delivered DOES NOT give error either.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Using Acer Liquid Android 1.6 - ROM 1.000.4

No idea how this was fixed, as anything I tried did not bring any result. However after sometime the error dissapeared. Here is what I tried:

1. Exported all Gmail contacts, deleted them, then re-imported and synchronised - did not help right away.

2. Delete all the messages I had. (you can backup first) - did not help right away.

3. Changed locale to English, than to Japanese than to English than to Japanese again. I have no error nor in English nor in Japanese.

I do not know which step exactly solved the problem, maybe it needed reboot to come into effect or something. If someone has the same problem please report your experience here.

Not a solution to this but you can try Hangcent SMS as a replacement and delete the "mms.apk" from the system/app

Yes I have Handcent and works perfectly. Unfortunately I need Mms.apk cause it makes possible to send/receive MMS in Japan... With Handcent this does not work.
