Hero Scrolling problem

Hi There

I have an ongoing but intermittant problem, this has been happening since i owned the phone since last august. I have been rooted from the October or so but cant remember if it happened before i was running modaco roms, The phone seems to scroll to the right on its own, this happens on the home screens but also when texting, mailing or browsing which is very frustrating. As i said its intermittant, i have had spells were it would regularly happen then it would be fine for months, over the past week it seems to be happening fairly regularly, i seem to remember seeing other similar posts on a different site.

Anyone on here had the same problem? Thanks

This has been posted about before.

There seem to be 2 theories: software issue, or dirt under the scroller ball thang

Mine does it once or twice a fortnight too, but I just scroll around furiously for a few seconds and it goes away
