few questions from a beginner

Hi all

I would like to root my sprint hero but i have a few questions about it.

If i root my sprint hero will the phone be wiped?

And once i root the phone can i unroot it in case i need to take it to sprint for repair?

And one last question

Can i turn my sprint hero once its rooted into a kinda dev phone with the dev apps and capabilities?

1) No, Your phone won't be wiped.

2) Yes

3) Yes, By installing a Custom ROM like MCR ( Modaco Custom ROM).

If i remember correctly, then you could've just download the original ROM uppdate from HTC's website.

It worked for me.

But the ppl with more knowledge could correct me if i'm wrong =)

Ya! you are right if you want to Unroot your phone, just update your phone with the original RUU file which you get from the HTC's website for your phone.
