Guest Jonnyw2k Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 My alarm clock doesnt seem to work, its set to recurring but never goes off (that i have noticed) does the Clock app need to be running for the alarm to go off? another thing: When i recieve a text my screen unlocks itself which is quite annoying as I start replying and then it locks midway through my reply, is there any way to disable this auto unlock?

Guest FLT Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Seems a bit stupid lol :) He means that you must exclude it from a task killer (if you have one), not that the clock app should be visible. Maybe also check that the alarm should ring in silent mode?

Clock is one of those things that starts automatically at boot, and runs in the background of course, keeping the time on your homescreen going etc, BUT if you don't add it to a safe list, then use a taskkiller, the taskkiller leaves only the essential bits of the clock running (the time display) but it does knock off the other stuff, including the ability to remember an alarm. I've found the safest way to make sure you don't oversleep is to always add clock app to your safe list (or if its a third party app add that natch :) ) and as a failsafe, I usually just view my alarm screen then press home so I know its been activated. As for the sms issue, I use handcent mostly so I'm not totally sure, but I know that with handcent I can turn off that initial screen in the settings so possibly check if you can do that. B) Dayzee
Guest Jonnyw2k Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 I think its because i close the clock app, because it stops recurring like it will show the alarm icon but it doesnt change day.
