Filtering contacts in Messaging section

My contacts list contains a long list of people who I've only get emails for, or only landlines. I never want to send texts to these numbers, so is it possible to filter the list to only show mobile numbers? If I want to email someone I'll use the email app instead.

In Google, my apps are divided into groups, but these don't seem to sync over to the phone.
