Guest superwario Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Hey guys, Im a total newb so please bare with me. I have a nexus one with the ra v1.5.3 recovery tool and the superboot ROM. I downloaded the update, changed the name to "update" and put the file in the SD cards root directory, and went to "flash zip from SDCARD" option within the recovery tool. when i try to apply update.zip, i get the error: E: no signature (202 files) E: verification failed installation aborted i tried to read through the update post, but got insanely lost because i didnt understand your guys' terminology such as "baked" and such (i know, please let all your laughs out) Please, i just want this update so i can get multitouch! can someone give me a clear, concise instruction (with links maybe?) to how i should go about this process? I would be greatly thankful!
Guest Peter sf Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Hey guys, Im a total newb so please bare with me. I have a nexus one with the ra v1.5.3 recovery tool and the superboot ROM. So you have a rooted N1, which won't accept the update unless you first flash it with an original rom. Or go to pauls post about how to do it anyway in four steps with the updates he provides there. I had the same problem (and still didn't manage to update, as i don't know how to execute step 3 and four and am waiting for Pauls instructions...)

I had the same problem (and still didn't manage to update, as i don't know how to execute step 3 and four and am waiting for Pauls instructions...) peter, i have just updated my nexus one successfully with full root access as well. here are the commands for steps 3 and 4 (through tedious research might i add?) when you rooted, remember you had to make a directory structure like this ===> 'C:/android/tools' well to execute command 3 put the insecure boot image that you downloaded from step 3 into that 'tools' file. Now, turn your phone off and connect your nexus one via USB. Turn it on again by holding the trackball and pressing on while the trackball is depressed. You will now be at the fastboot menu. (It will say 'Fastboot USB' on top in small lettering) Now, open up command prompt on your (hopefully windows) computer. type: 'cd C:/android/tools' (without the apostrophes of course) Now type in 'fastboot flash boot boot.ERE27.insecure.img' (Again, no apostrophes) Now your phone has the insecure boot image loaded! But wait, before you do anything, you can add the superboot image as well in the same command right after you loaded the insecure boot image. make sure that the superboot image file from step 4 is in that 'tools' folder as well. now in the command prompt, type 'fastboot flash boot boot.ERE27.insecure.img' (no apostrophes) Your phone will now reboot with the superboot that has the new ERE27 update with multitouch! (Provided you already flashed the update from the SD card before these steps i just described took place.) Note: These steps do not erase your phone settings! Nice!
Guest metatron Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 I just baked the stock update ROM (with superboot and radiuo update) in the kitchen and put it on top of MCR 1.3 and it took no problem.
