Guest mbmapit Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Hi everyone, I am fairly new hear and recently subscribed so that I could download and update my girlfriends Pulse. She was very impressed with the vanilla 1.7 as it was much faster and easier to use.... However, ever since flashing the Skype app will not allow her to make calls anymore. The error code she receives is "Calling is not supported in your region". Now I tried changing the locale details to English etc but still no joy. I don't want her to have to go back to the stock firmware but I fear she may have to unless someone can help as she uses skype a lot to call her family abroad. Any ideas guys/gals??? Thanks
Guest pinkllama Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 (edited) which app are you using to connect to skype? also just installed 1.7 vanilla i've just installed Nimbuzz, which can connect to skype as well as facebook, yahoo, gmail etc. i haven't used it for a call yet but the chat function works fine. Fring is also very good. both should be in the app store. hope this helps ;) **JUST TESTED THE NEW VERSION OF FRING - IT WORKS PERFECTLY - NICE NEW INTERFACE - ITS IN THE APP STORE** Edited February 3, 2010 by pinkllama
Guest mapero Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 **JUST TESTED THE NEW VERSION OF FRING - IT WORKS PERFECTLY - NICE NEW INTERFACE - ITS IN THE APP STORE** I dont see any difference to the old interface. I prefer the ebuddy interface. But fring is the only app for me where skype is working. I have no sound when calling someone with nimbuzz.
Guest pinkllama Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 i've been using nimbuzz for a couple of years on symbian phones. the last time i used fring (about a year ago) it looked a bit botched together (on symbian) well i guess one skype client is all you need ;)
