Guest cezent Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Hi all, I m wondering if its possible for people with stock Nexus One to post here the rough time they receive the OTA and the region they are in? to start with: I was just told by a friend based in Beijing that OTA was pushed through a few hours ago. Nothing on mine yet, based in UK.

Guest Jonnyw2k Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 You can force the update without rooting or unlocking bootloader which I did in UK
Guest cezent Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 You can force the update without rooting or unlocking bootloader which I did in UK I tried going into the about phone page, nothing there. How do i force it on stock version?
Guest Jonnyw2k Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Download the file and put it in SD card root folder(named update.zip) Turn Phone off Turn back on while holding down trackball go to Bootloader go to Recovery at warning screen press vol up and power apply sdcard:update.zip enjoy ;) QR Code for file to download and rename to update.zip on sdcard root

Guest joners Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Well I didnt get any warning about invalidating warrenty or anything like that ;) Oh good! I think that ill hold off for the next day or two and then see if the OTA actually comes out in the UK, if not then ill be doing this. :D
Guest Jonnyw2k Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Also all my apps stayed and all my settings so it doesnt affect user data which is niceee ;)

This is the same way OTA will do to update your phone. When the OTA was pushed to my phone, the system tell me the phone will restart to apply the updates, and it then booted in to the stock recovery mode. However as i flashed the custom recovery, the digital signature wont pass. If your're unrooted and unlocked, i guess the signature test will pass and you will update just fine.

I gave up and couldnt wait, im such a child sometimes! flashed manually from the update.zip, all working well. doh.
