Guest 1968falconxt Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) Hi guys, in the last few days, my i900 has been experiencing some unusual battery usage. the battery keeps draining for no reason. The only change i have made in the last couple of days is installing Phon.Ex v2.2 has anyone else experienced massive battery consumption with this program? I am running SPB shell 3.5 and S2u2, and have accepted the battery consumption with these. In 5 hours my battery has gone from fully charged to 70% with no usage at all.I have no data connections or programs running in the background that i am aware of. active sync is not running Edited February 4, 2010 by 1968falconxt
Guest 1968falconxt Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 also, the battery indicator (batti) just jumped from 70% down to 50% without any use. I just resetted my phone, and it is now showing 40%!!! this is 60% of the battery gone in 8 hours and the phone has only been in standby!

I havent installed spam alert, but like u i have SPB 3.5 and S2U2. I was planning to reset my phone but it doesnt help right?
Guest 1968falconxt Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) my battery ran flat in 11 hours with maybe 5 mins of calls, no data connections. I am almost at the point of buying a new battery, making the assumption that my current battery has kicked the bucket. hmm...not sure about the spam alert in my first topic. I typed " Icon.soft Phon.Ex v2.2". Not sure why it changed to spam alert. Anyway, i removed this program, and have no luck still Edited February 4, 2010 by 1968falconxt
Guest renee613 Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 I use fonex 2.2, s2u2 2.30, and spb ms 3.5.3 and my battery will run to about 40% in 11 hours (email updates every 30 min, bluetooth connections, 60-90 minutes of talking, surfing the web and texting all day long). you used odd number increments to describe your battery consumption, are u running a custom task bar? sometimes the 1% and 5% increment taskbars will kill your battery. i've also noticed some custom spb ms skins/themes will cause your battery to drain quicker. maybe you can uninstall each program and reinstall them one by one 2 see whats causing the drain??

Guest 1968falconxt Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 i have removed Phon.Ex and S2u.2. I will see how it goes. The % increments on my phone are stock. (10%). I have the Batti indicator and the one on SPB. both are 10% increments, but often jump 30%+ at a time
Guest gpw11 Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 I also have been having the same problem. I uninstalled everything, hard reset and ran the phone at stock for a couple days and it didn't help me. I'm assuming my issue at this time is an actual battery issue.
Guest 1968falconxt Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 well that is my conclusion too, which is why i folded and bought a replacement battery off ebay. hopefully it will solve my problems. if not, im back to the drawing board!!
Guest jms2367 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 when i was using spb ms 3.5, s2u2 and batti. it seems that batti is incompatible w/ s2u2 because the battery indicator of batti flickers every time s2u2 locks the phone and battery usage is also erratic. i uninstalled batti then and the battery usage returned to acceptable levels. it is a good thing that spb ms 3.5 has its own battery progress bar as well.
Guest 1968falconxt Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 (edited) oh really? I just uninstalled Phon.Ex and S2u2, and my battery is working great. It is the start of day 3 for me, and battery levels have just dropped to 70%. I might try taking off Batti (as useful as it is) and go back to s2u2, as i do love the slide to unlock.... Guest gpw11 Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 Well, the new battery didn't work for me. I'm trying running without S2u2 (again) and running pocketshield instead. I'll see how this goes, but I'm kind of resigned to the fact that it might just be the ROM my provider forces me to run (no custom roms on Telus) or a hardware problem. The thing that gets me is that it just drains when in standby and I can't figure out why. I can deal with it with a car charger, but eventually the 12 or so hour limit will probably force me to get a new phone sooner than I'd like. Shame because I really like how I have this set up.
Guest 1968falconxt Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 why don't you try another ROM? I am using a standard (pretty bare) 6.1 ROM. Seems to be the best one i have come across for battery consumption.

No one has been able to crack the Telus Rom and flashing to a Verizon, Orange, or anything else equals bricking your phone. Not 100% sure what the deal is, but the common rule with the Omnia in Canada seems to be that if you're with Telus, you're not flashing your Rom.
