Guest midnightz Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) Play have the mobile listed on their website as due for release on 12 February 2010, which brings about a few questions: 1. Is this correct and therefore the UK release date? 2. Does that mean Vodafone will announce it very soon? 3. Why are Play even listing it when it's sold direct by Google? 4. £599.99 - are they kerrazy? http://whatnewmobile.com/android/htc-googl...-february-2010/ Edited February 9, 2010 by midnightz

Why are Play even listing it when it's sold direct by Google? 4. £699.99 - are they kerrazy? http://whatnewmobile.com/android/htc-googl...-february-2010/ I read it as £599.99 but even still that is a lot of money. And in case people missed it the Nexus One was launched in the UK on the 5th of January 2010......
Guest midnightz Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Price edited; looks like it's 16 February now. I don't call importing in from the US a UK launch, you can't even get a proper UK plug with it! The UK launch is when Vodafone finally put it on their network and people can purchase it without getting an additional bill a few weeks later.

Yes you can ;), mine came with a UK 3pin plug, it adds it automatically to your basket when you place the order.

You would rather wait and then pay maybe £100 more? Also, Micro USB chargers can be bought for £1.90 with postage...
Guest colonel_butt Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 nothing can disguise the fact that $529+shipping (£362) for this power level of phone is very cheap for the UK (see expansys or play to compare with others). If you can get a pal to buy it in the US for you then its £362. If you have it delivered to the UK by google you will end up paying another £60 for tax. At £420 its still cheap when compared to the iphone 3gs which is £440 and on which every single specification is lower, in some cases much, then the nexus one.

I call it an official launch when it is made available to a said country, It was made available to the UK on the 5th January 2010, where it ships from doesn't really matter. And when you buy it on Vodafone you WILL get a bill a few weeks later, and then another a few weeks after that and then another a few weeks after that etc etc until your 24 month curfew is over......

Guest squirreleater Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 The phone is launched in the UK, as well all know as we've bought one! It's not launched via a carrier yet- the way most people get hold of their high end phones rather than pay up front.
