Guest jmmL Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 (edited) Through some googling I just found out that Red Bull Mobile (yes, it exists!) released their version of the U8220 / Pulse back in November. I haven't seen anyone else mention it here, so I though I'd let everyone know. Could be a possible source for ROMs - they appear to be running vanilla android, but I couldn't find any downloads on their website. Here are some links: http://androidandme.com/2009/11/news/red-b...oid-in-germany/ http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y...=auto&tl=en http://shop.redbullmobile.at/is-bin/INTERS...ID=&UpperCD Also, apparently the U8230 is getting released in Indonesia: http://bensukses.com/ponsel-hp/harga-huawe...roid-indonesia/ Here's a review of a Swedish release of the U8220. He also claims to have spoken to Huawei about timing for an upgrade to 2.1: http://www.mobil.se/artikel/testrapport_hu...164649-921.html Edited February 6, 2010 by jmmL
Guest McSpoon Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 There was a ROM on the Huawei website labelled U8230V100R001C100B214(Austria-MOBILKOM). And www.redbullmobile.at mentions "© mobilkom austria" so possibly related? I don't have the bandwidth to download it, but it's still online if you want to check it out. http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwide/down...ia_MOBILKOM.zip Whatever this is, it dates back before the December update so it's likely to be the original ROM. But maybe it has the Red Bull branding which could be interesting?
