Nexus One ROM as A Virtual Device

I am new to this, so please bear with me...

I've downloaded the SDK to my Linux box and tried the "android-2.1" platform successfully.

My question is: can I use the Nexus One original ROM (discussed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614850) as a virtual device and run it with the emulator command?

If possible how can I achieve that?
