Creating custom themes by modifying framework-res.apk

You do need to de-odex all the /system/app/*.apk's.

Also on the link you posted the guide is wrong for a pulse.

It's quite close, just a couple of problems with font colours.

Here's what I have ported so far: pulseblk.zip it's not perfect, a lot still needs to be ported.

You will need to apply the de-odex'd apk's from my previous post before you can use this Metamorph theme.

Again, this is only for the u8230 MCR 1.7 Kitchen builds.

Any help with porting is welcome.

OK, this is as far as I am going with the Elegance port, untill they get the theme out of beta anyhow.

Too many bug's and it was designed for a 2.0 build not 1.5

Think it may be better to wait for a 2.0 for the Pulse, save spending hours making a theme for it to break on the next update.

do the stuff klutsh has posted about the de-odexing.

download metamorph, find a sense theme for it.

install the theme

Nah, all of my ROMs end up crashing constantly :)

If I feel like it, might make a few tutorials, how to install the Pulse drivers, how to get ADB working, and the like.

It would be nice to see every one with a nice custom Pulse!
