Guest DLCI Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 (edited) It simply doesn't work. Actually never did for me, no matter what I've configured under Settings-> power->WiFi and which rom I've been using. Now, I read that HTC has a reg key to enable that functionality (taken from xda-dev): [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\BCMSDDHD1\Parms] "HTCKeepWifiOnWhenUnattended"=dword:00000001 On omnia it doesn't exist of course, but we have [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\JaguarGSP1\Parms] , which is the WLAN chip I suppose. The question is does anyone know how to enable the wifi during standby? Can I add a key or modify an existing one in the registry to achieve that? Lack of that feature is becoming really a pain lately ;) Edited February 7, 2010 by DLCI
Guest sinancetinkaya Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 check this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=273990
Guest ajhvdb Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 or if it's just needed at certain times, search for "oldSAP_DontSleep_Wifi"
Guest DLCI Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 (edited) @ sinancetinkaya thanks, will try that, although I remember to have done it in the past without success. Is it working for you? @ ajhvdb That's the workaround I'm currently using (preventing the device to go into standby) but honestly it is stupid& making me crazy to see the device lit all the time... P.S. There's absolutely no reason that 3G connectivity stays idle, but wifi is powered off at entering the standby mode. I was going through different forums and it seems all the platforms, except symbian, suffer from that design issue..too bad EDIT: the reg changes don't work - the wifi is disconnected at the second, the device enters standby mode...
