You need adb for this only if you have (if I remember correctly) 2.xxx rom which don't allow you to enter bootloader mode by pressing Camera+Power. But in any case it is better to install adb (Comes with Android SDK) and usb drivers. Also Liquid-specific drivers must be installed. (Can be found from Drivers-thread at top of the forum)

"fastboot" which is mentioned at parts 5. and 6. is windows executable. You can get this by downloading Paul's Superboot. That file is named superboot-windows.exe in that package.

So put this downloaded rom and modified superboot in same folder with superboot-windows.exe and also all dll-files in Paul's Superboot package, install usb drivers, enter into bootloader mode.

After that run windows command prompt (Win-button + R --> cmd --> ok), navigate to folder where you have put all those files and then follow instructions at parts 5.-.7.

Hope this helps. If you have problems PM me in Finnish and I can help you out. =)

it's related to the fonts, some characters are missing. Btw you can put back the stock fonts, to solve this issue..

Any hint which font? (I mean which .ttf)

Any hint which font? (I mean which .ttf)

unzip attached fonts and push them to /system/fonts.

adb remount

adb push DroidSans.ttf /system/fonts/

adb push DroidSans-Bold.ttf /system/fonts/

adb reboot

If you want to change system font you just need to replace these with the ttf you like best, don't know if it works with opentype fonts..

Is pauls fastboot different than the fastboot.exe in the sdk's tools folder?

Because i used the sdk fastboot and it worked too.

I got the same problem. Any instructions how to do that?

Edit: Ah thanks liquid_it

But other than that it's pretty much perfect.

Battery life is awesome so far. I updated from 1.002.05 and had around 16-20 hrs battery life with WiFi off.

Now it's 17h 50m since unplugged and still 63% !! With WiFi on all the time!

I've one more question though:

Here's what i did:

Rooted with Paul's Superboot

Installed lickonn's recovery

Did a Nandroid backup

Flashed maxisma's Rom with fixed boot.img

So if i want root, do i have to root again? If yes, how?

Can i just use the Root option in lickonn recovery?

Thanks to all of you

This is a really really great version. Everything seems to work. I even not had to wipe. All my params and apps were kept, nothing to reconfigure.

Thank you very much maxisma, you made a really great job.

Could you tell me in wich apk is stored the power management widget as i would like to restore the one from earlier release ( it no really easy to know wether gps/wifi in on with the black one). I tried AcerSettings.apk but that must be anoher one.

For those who have not tried it yet, don't worry about first boot. It take 4 minutes.

As promised I have themed the power management Widget as it was not easy to iif something was on or off.

Here is how is the original widget in rom :

maxismacr200016.jpg

On/Off is not really clear (everything was on in the screenshot)

Here is Settings_2.000.16_malez_v1

Icons are those that were originally used by acer with transparent background and 2.0 menu icons

settings200016malezv1.jpg

It's really easier to see but could not contrast if using a dark background

Here is Settings_2.000.16_malez_v1.1

Icons are those that were originally used by acer including white background and 2.0 menu icons

settings200016malezv11.jpg

Here is Settings_2.000.16_malez_v2.apk

settings200016malezv2.jpg

I kept icons that were originally in the custom rom but added a green bar when function is on. Moreover, light icon change wether you are at low or high position. 2.0 menu icons included

Anyone have problems with WiFi?

Turn WiFi on, use it, then turn off.

After that - can not turn on anyway...

There is one solution: chmod 777 /data/misc/wifi/wpa.conf

Then i can turn wifi on again. But it's temporary.

Weird... Is it my fault or bug in ROM?

Settings_2.000.16_malez_v1 has the 2.0 icon in menu and original widget style without background.

I will make a fully originall widget style with 2.0 icon. Will post it soon
