SMS from short number

My Nexus doesn't show the senders phonenumber if the number i shorter than usual, i.g. in stead of showing "1880" the phone shows the first word in the message as sendername. Is this a generell problem in Android 2.1? Works fine on any other mobiles.

I don't have that problem, but Im using Handcent dunno if that makes the difference ;)
