According to a Dutch site, mobilyz.com, the new Hero ROM must be available.

The only thing is that I cannot find the ROM on the HTC site.

dutch site tweakers confirms the 2.1 android officially from HTC (together with an announcement about pink hero being available on a provider here now).

But it clearly states it will be halfway _in march_.

I clicked on the source from Tweakers.net, and it's an official press-statement collection site.

It states 'media maart' for the 2.1-update, which means 'somewhere in march' which could just as well be first week of April or something.

... BUT, it _IS_ an official press statement, made by Mark Moons, Regional Director HTC Benelux.

So it sounds like the first official statement about the 2.1-hero-update, which isn't a rumour or some answer in a support-desk-email.

Yup. Sounds good! My little bit of dutch/german agrees. Interesting article, as that looks to be a mainstream news site, yet reporting on a pretty technical 'trivial' update to those who don't have a hero (best thing since sliced bread for us though ;))

Oh, please! If HTC released their update prematurely, everybody would be complaining about the bugs and how crappy HTC is. You can't win in this business.
