Guest Rubber Ducky Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Is there any magical command I have to type to get my hero to reboot? $ su # reboot that doesn't work. Help? Maybe shutdown -r ???
Guest cowai Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Maybe shutdown -r ??? No. That's not a command, I think. Gscript has a default "reboot" script, which doesn't work. I get "not permitted", just like when entering manually "reboot". Is this modaco spesific?
Guest descenpet Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 (edited) call answer+menu+call end well that's not really a command but it will reboot your hero Edited February 10, 2010 by descenpet

There's an app that's supposed to do via a widget it but when I tired it didn't work. I forget the name but you have to pay for it. Edited February 10, 2010 by CitizenLee
Guest venturerider Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 call answer+menu+call end well that's not really a command but it will reboot your hero That felt suspiciously like a reset and not a proper shutdown. If it is not a proper shutdown, it could screw up your filesystems.
Guest lundefugl Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Gscript has a default "reboot" script, which doesn't work. I get "not permitted", just like when entering manually "reboot". You need su/Superuser Permissions to run reboot. A strange thing I have seen on some ROM's is that just typing 'reboot' alone doesn't do anything, but 'reboot now' does the trick...
Guest Jeppfi Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 (edited) Just "reboot" (without the quotes) works trough ADB. Edited February 10, 2010 by Jeppfi
Guest cowai Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Just "reboot" (without the quotes) works trough ADB. yeah, that's the weird thing.
Guest stevenz Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 The fact you need to type su beforehand suggests you're running a stock kernel which may be the issue., although as it's a separate binary I can't think how. And by "doesn't work" what do you mean? Does it give an error or do nothing at all?
Guest cowai Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 Sorry for megabump. When I run the "reboot" command I get "stderr: not permitted". This doesn't happen in 2.1 roms I have tried.
Guest xTc is loVe Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Maybe shutdown -r ??? Haha its for windows
