samsung updater sucks!!!!

Hi all, got a problem with the official update for my i900,Am running vista, i have wmdc installed and have synced my device, but when i try and run the updater i get the message 'please install wmdc first', have uninstalled/reinstalled, tried tried changing the usb to pc setting on the phone and usb connection settings, driving me mad, and personally i think samsungs support of the later os's totally sucks, can anyone help me!!!!!

any help would be much appreciated and thx in advance.

I am new to all this flashing lark so please go easy on me :D .......oh and by the way have been trawling through the site and i must say guys it ROCKS!!!!!!!!! ;)
