Dashes in phone number when paired with the car

My Nexus pairs with our car (Audi) perfectly, all the phone numbers transfer exactly as they are in the phone book.

My wife's Nexus however transfers the numbers with dashes in the phone number (ie US format). When the car tries to dial she gets just part of the number eg 0123456789 might transfer as 012-345-6789 and dial as 012589 ... or something similar.

I have tried to go into keyboard locale and set it to UK.

I edited her google account to show in UK english (it was set US).

But the phone still hypenates every phone number. On the screen they read fine, it also has names in Surname / Forename order rather than forename / surname order.

Anyone any idea ?

See screenshot below for example

The real eye catcher here is "R8"

I think the nexus is the winner here :(

Esp. after audi upgraded the software on my car and rendered it unusable for 2 weeks!

Heh, i think its an android bug, as my car stereo if i dail off the phone shows up fine on the stereo, but if i dial off the head unit it adds hyphens. and in some cases makes the number un-dailable

Hmm, a 2 Nexus owning, Liquid user, with an R8... Hi Matt :(

Are you running the same ROMs on both phones?

Presume you're "fiddling" with yours, and Mag's is running stock?

because they are soooooooooooooooooooooo tiny ?

Hoping the intro of the desire causes O2 to pull their socks up on the Android market !

I'm from Switzerland and have my N1 in english. The only problem is when I enter a new contact phone number, it is in US format xxx-xxx..., with dashes.

I "resolved" the problem by installing "MoreLocale 2" and setting my locale manually to "en_CH" (en to have the phone in english, CH to have regional settings of my country)
