Guest ch08 Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Hi all, I have just registered on this forum, and maybe someone can help. I am thinking about purchasing the Omnia Pro and have a few questions. How is the sound quality of the phone? I read in some revis that it was not good. Also, the customized interface, is it possible to disable that? I also read that it was a little sluggish with this. Is this true? Any info would be really apreciated, many thanks!
Guest JaW-PL Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Hi Sound is good, and in receivers very good. Interface works quickly, but it slows down on second with time. Generally Omnia Pro this nice, good PDA.
Guest pro-gene Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 The sound is not great with the mono loud speakers, but plug in the headsets/ earphones - it's bliss!!! You can easily disable the sluggish interface if you don't need. SPBMobile shell works like a charm, you can have a look at it.
Guest ch08 Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 OK, that sounds good. So I can then get the standard menu's of the WM6.5? How do I disable it? That sounds good, I was also thinking about the HTC TouchPro2, but then I will definitly have a look at this device. But the microphone and the earpiece, is that ok?
Guest SuperLOL Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 Look at this topic: http://www.modaco.com/content/b7610-omnia-...ting-to-wm-6-5/ And if i use the Samaung start menu the phone gets dam slow after same hours. The Phone hardware is i would say the best you get for the money but the Samsung Software is a joke.
Guest ch08 Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 Hi, So I can then remove the Samsung program and have the classic start menu of WM6.5? Also, a question about the FM radio. I rad that on the Omnia II it is possible to record a little piece of a song and then send that to some database and get the name of that song. Does the B7610 also feature that? Many thanks!
Guest SuperLOL Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 (edited) You can't remove the Samsung menu but you can disable it. Also if you disable the Samsung SMS Program and use the WinMO SMS Program then you will not be able to us MMS there is also no program out there that can do MMS for WinMO. The Samsung programs are good but TO bugy if i had know this i would buy a HTC Phone or a othere one what is the piont of having a good hardware Phone if the Phone is not usable becasue of the Program Bugs. Oh and read this also if you think you have 256MB RAM :D http://www.modaco.com/content/b7610-omnia-...accessable-ram/ And the Omnia Pro has the same Radio as the Omnia II so yes it has this option too. Guest ttrevelian Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 (edited) ch08 in general terms I would recommend you the B7610 specially if you care a lot for music , the sound is really the best i have experience in a mobile phone (while using headphones). If you worry a lot about the interface you can always disable it as many of us have done. It is nice to try it out though The other greeeeat thing about this device (over TP2) is the AMOLED display, if you have had the chance to get your hands on the phone you know what i'm talking about if not i can tell you that the colors really look stunning while saving some battery life at the end of the day. And this is a big plus for the B7610. My previous device was an HTC Touch pro and if i didn't charge it while driving it wouldnt made it 1 entire day. The B7610 battery last easily 2 days without charging with the same usage The only thing i can warn you about is the "autoclose bug" (which other phones also have) if you have many application open (6 to 10) there is a chance that they will automatically close. But on the other side every WM phone i had before i had to soft reset at least once a day. With the B7610 i forgot about soft reseting for the 3 months that i have it. My conclusion: If they returned my money back i would buy the same phone again :D I hope you find this info helpfull and welcome to the forum. :D (Warning: bad grammar) Edited February 17, 2010 by ttrevelian
