Hi all,

Seeing as HTC are accepting hardware based errors with devices, What is the best way to backup your apps and settings and texts, etc before unlocking the boot loader (Which does a factory reset) ?

Thanks

you can do a nandroid backup and/or use titanium backup.

google backs up most settings/apps but restore does not work on every custom rom.

texts are in /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db - you back it up and restore later.

I don't have root yet so I can't use Nandroid.

Does titanium require root to backup ?

Doesn't work without root :D

Thanks

Can I pull the mmssms.db without root ?

(Im guessing I can :D)

No I cant

Any other ideas ??

I'm going to try backing everything up with Astro and Mybackup (Free) and then see how I go :D

Sorry for the double post.

If I unlock the boot loader, and then use the himem superboot image, can I flash Cyan's rom without any problems ?

Thanks

unlock and flash amon_ra recovery.

if you want cm anyway, no need to flash superboot before. thats for root on otherwise stock devices.
