It's done - This is how a bricked liquid looks like :/

Ok so long story short. I got an idea on how to boot nexus dump with some changes onto the liquid. I had a very early engineer build for the liquid which I thought had less bootloader verifications. I was stupid and really eager to see if my theory worked. Second victim was maxisma who would test this theory with me :/

This is the result of the bad flash of the engineer spl (bootloader) + edited boot + edited system:

imag0022e.th.jpg

When I try too boot afte the flash I get this screen, no hardware key combos work and I cant enter recovery or fastboot. Now I have to wait for my acer contact to log in and assist me with what I can do :/

If I get any help from my source that explains how to get out of this, I will post it here!

Just a tip, dont mess with acer tool when updating and dont flash spls!

You could always ask the community to buy you one so that you can then in return create roms.... oh hang on.... you already did that....

Really good sarcasm bro, but this is a informative thread has nothing to do with asking for a new device!

This image was designed for developer device and wasn't designed for our retail devices. It was based on Eclair (but very very buggy our source said) and it had a special engineering SPL which allowed to flash zImage only and it combined it with the current ramdisk, somewhat like on the Nexus One I think.

I'm not asking for more donations to get a new device either.

Anyway, it was the last idea we had to get you an Eclair ROM though, somewhat like a last chance before the official update.

I'll continue on my modded stock ROM though, but no big developments anymore.

I'm sorry. My device is looking the same as behnams now.

Yea let's hope that.. He said that there is something like the .nbhs for HTC devices.. but he thinks that only engineering devices can enter the stage where it looks for that file on a sdcard :D

You tested at the same time? Seriously...

We didn't test the same, we swapped out some files & edited them from the Nexus build, and I did it "vice-versa" it's hard to explain.

another thing, what is an engineering spl, is it better than the stock spl on liquid, what are the possibilities?

Flashing zImage to it and it combines it with the ramdisk with correct memory adresses. Flashing splash1. And a few other things, which normally can only be flashed with the Acer A1 tool.

Have you guys tried the "bad kernel flash" recovery method?

1. USB out from phone

2. Camera + vol up + power

3. Battery out

4. Battery back

5. USB -> phone

6. Wait for bootloader

This probably won't work, but worth a try...

Great! Happy for that! To bad you lost it and had to buy a new, good however that you didnt buy a N1. (It's what I would have done if I lost my Liquid).

Really hope "the brickers" find a way to unbrick the phones, would be good for the community, both if we find out how to restore a bricked phone and even that it's easyer to experiment with untested code when you know how to unbrick.

Offtopic totally, but need to ask: Why white? I have looked at them all, and now I am happy I ordered a black. :-) Looks alot more professional (at work that is). ;-) Still looks plastic though.

You guys should tell this contact of yours to hand over the 1.6 source in full instead of buggy engineering code...
