Increase allocated java memory

Afternoon, does anyone know if it's possible to increase the size of memory/ram allocated to java?

using opera mini (image quality = high) if I load a 2 or 3 tabs with lots of images the then first one will go blank with a message like 'page cleared to save memory. please press reload'

If I do the same with image quality set to low then all pages are kept loaded.

Using 6.5, Esmertec Jbed, and opera mini beta 2.
