Looks nice ! Doubt we'll ever get it on our tg01's "All of the handsets will be multi-touch and will come with a dedicated hardware button for Microsoft's search engine Bing. "

At this stage id just be happy to have 6.5.3 :D and im sure we'll have a cooked rom soon.

Of course the TG01 will not get WM7, the phone doesn't comply to the hardware standards.

Yep, but once we will be able to cook ROMs, we could "take the inspiration" of Win7 to cook some brand new ROM, isn't it?

No matter how you stew, bake or boil your ROMs they still will not be WinMo7; that just will not run on the TG01.

just to add as of october at the very latest wm7 will be on tg01

mr strange if you are a betting man you would loose a lot of money .

So where have you got this hot tip that WinMo7 will work on hardware that doesn't conform to its minimum requirements from? Moreover, how do you know this unlikely ROM will be released several months before the actual release of WinMo7? Do tell and enlighten us all.

All current skills in hacking have been in WinCE5 (equiv to Win98) -- until somebody has hacked WinCE6 (equiv WinNT-gen), all bets are off.

The kernel/driver/memory model is so different, all the current entry points are a wash. Then, since wimpy7 (WinP7) is even a newer kernel that hasn't existed anywhere yet ...

just because it doesnt have the hardware specifications, it doesnt mean that it wont work necessarily, it just means it wont work at its optimum capacity. my computer doesnt meet the minimum requirements for windows 7, but i'm still running it. it may not run as well as a computer that was built for win7, but it runs and thats all that matters.

now hold on a minute if the htc hd2 is getting wm7 so can tg01 the have the same cpu power both are similar and its already confirmed they are getting so come on toshiba get talking with microsoft and get it on tg01 or we are gonna have to cook our own but hell no its not imposible nothing is imposible when you really put your mind into it.

I dont think we'll ever get an official update but i think its a waste because wm 6.5 cant even show the potential of the tg01

sounds a bit like we're splitting meanings of words here

i would respectfully suggest that "works" & "runs" are not the same thing

Toshiba haven't managed an update to allow us to make calls with good audio quality yet....

they've already given us a 6.5 upgrade from 6.1

i wouldn't be shocked if we never see any thing else official for TG01 ever again....

Toshiba clearly intended to TG for 6.1 vintage, we're unlikely to get WM 6.5.X as they've only just given us 6.5 & they've got TG02 in development... meanwhile orange (& other providers) just have to wait out our contracts & get us to upgrade a little sooner....

sorry sir i can't offer you a fix for your toshiba & our records show you've already had a replacement device, but i have spoken with my manager & although you're only part way thru your contract we can offer you a hd2 on your existing tariff & no additional payment if you sign now for another 18 months

like you're not gonna say yes to that !!!

so IMHO the tosh in your pocket is your tosh for life - give or take any custom ROMS of course....

Microsoft is clearly testing and developing software on actual devices. We've already seen TG01 with 6.5.3 but that dowsn't mean that toshiba will make this ROM available.

I would be happy if toshiba would fixx actual bugs.

hmm, looks like a bong on the right there... personally i think you'd have to be smoking something to believe wm7 will make it to the tg01.
