Help with MoDaCo ROM?

Hi, I want to root my HTC Hero (T-Mobile Version), so after looking at the ROM page it said NO WIPE needed for 2.73.x users with stock ROM, does that mean I can simply flash and it will upgrade?

Also how should I upgrade my radio firmware, if so how? (Its the stock version at the moment)

Oh and one more question, is there a way to update the MoDaCo ROM automatically? (e.g. without connecting via USB to computer), similar to the CyanogenMod updater?
