Windows Mobile 7 Announcement

Guys check this out:

http://www.gsmarena.com/microsoft_announce...m-news-1456.php

The new Windows Phone 7 leaves no place for user or firmware customization, except the wallpapers. It's highly probable that Microsoft won't allow custom interfaces over their new OS (TouchWiz, TouchFLO 3D, etc.)

That's not true most probably. The same question was asked after the presentation and the answer was the GUI can be extended by the applications/HW manufacturers. It's not supposed to be replaced, but noone objected its modification. We can only guess what that means - can new widgets be added or complete hubs..I suppose it's too early to discuss the limitations as they'll be changing until the last minute. More interesting will be to see the first hands-on tests of the shipment releases...and the memory management

P.S. But even if you look at the current WM releases it's not too much different, except the WP7 supports live widgets - the OS itself doesn't allow too much modifications of the today screen - the dirty tricks& hacks are doing it :D

P.S.S the complete live icons speak of true multitasking. I count that MS will allow certain applications like gps navigation to utilize it as well..but we'll see Q3
