Guest sonat Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Dear forum members, My phone connects to internet (GPRS) and never disconnects! Now I don't have a problem with that but because of contant GPRS connection, battery drains in couple of hours! How can I prevent this? I mean, NoDATA just block the whole thing and I can't receive my Exchange emails all the time, so it is not a solution. --> How can I get this device to turn off the GPRS connection when there is no active data transfer and when it is not needed? --> MD2D data turn off switch is not working with OCK rom. What do I need to tweak to make it work? Thank you so very much for your time and attention!

If DISABLED this will permanently turn off the GPRS connection until you need it...then you need to enable it in here when you do need it. Also what Phone part are you using? Go Start -> Settings -> System -> Version and look under Phone: it will say something like i900JIIA1 or similar. My battery life lastest much MUCH longer when i changed my phone part to i900JIIA1 from one of the earlier ones. You will probably need a Windows XP machine to flash the phone part unless your willing to mess about in Vista/7. Hope this helps.

I traced it to a single email that wasn't syncing for some reason and once I deleted it, fixed the problem.
Guest Natsirt Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Try this: http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-h...disonnect-gprs/ It automatically disconnects your connection when nothing is using it, and when u need to use it again, you don't need to worry about fiddling with settings for your phone to connect, just connect as normal :D
