Hi,

I found this article : http://www.techparaiso.com/windows-mobile/...light-a-general

Then I use the cab supplied there to enhance my P_Dhee 28217 M2D ROM's Omnia, which - after 2 week - I think it's extend my phone battery life almost one day. Cab attached, hope it extend your battery too :D

Edit : Forgot to say thanks to the developer....:D THANKS!

Edit1 : the original article has been moved so I change the url to its new location

Edit2 : Combine this with wm longlife seem to give further saving. Try it ! Just google for the wm longlife

Hola Malvizuris,

Off course !! I will be glad to give you some comments on roms I have tested or give you a hand with the flashing procedure in case you need it, you can send me a personal message using the forums options so we don´t distract people since this particular thread is about battery enhancement. Just one question, are you using an omnia? I see in your profile you have a treo phone :D ? because I don't know anything about treo phones :D

saludos,

The cab modifies some windows setting, so yes, it works on any Windows Mobile Device.

It save my battery, however, I'm waiting feedback from others.

I tried the cab. We say that is not the best, the changes are few. If you are constantly connected to the Internet do not see changes. I left the phone switched on all night (8h) in standbay, I noticed that the battery went from 100% to 90% with the cab. Without the battery in the cab standbay fell from 100% to 40-50%. So it's better to save battery screen off.

feedback; with internet on 24x7 my battery drops dead within 10 hours, if I also make calls; even sooner. Now with this CAB it will last the entire 24h even with calls. Works great!

I hope the main master chefs will include these settings in their ROMs

I'd like to try the .cab but according to the developer's blog it disables auto network search and sets GSM as default and, if I want 3G, I have to "disable auto" in the phone settings. The only options there are automatic and manual. My question is: do these phone settings also set roaming behaviour? In other words, if I set network search to manual to get 3G, would I have to manually select a network when I go abroad? I want 3G as default, but I do a lot of international travel, so having to manually select a network each time would be a real pain.

If you are constantly connected to the Internet do not see changes.

Just to clarify, do you mean actual internet, i.e. Opera or PIE, or 3G?

Based on my experience, normally I get dynamic readings on top bar, ie 3G, G, H, E when moving from location from another, but with this cab, I only get one static reading (ie 3G) from place to place. But when I browse to Internet then this reading changes into what available on that location. So I think it just stops updating the '3G network condition' from one BTS to another but not the '3G network access'. So it should be OK.

But if you want to be sure, just borrow your friend's SIM card from another GSM provider to test it out. When we're overseas, our SIM card acts as a subscriber of a certain provider in that country, so it just like changing to another provider.

No noticable improvement in battery life over the last couple of days of daily usage... I always make sure internet is disconnected when I am not using it.
