Guest AndyCr15 Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 I think maybe my Micro SD card is damaged. If I plug it into my Win7 PC it tells me it wants to scan and fix it. I let it do this and it said all was fine. When I try and flash a ROM (including ones I've successfully flashed before) it tells me - Copying files... E:Failure at line 3: copy_dir PACKAGE:data DATA: Installation aborted. Any ideas what's going wrong?

Guest liorra3 Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 I think maybe my Micro SD card is damaged. yep, its seems to be the issue for my opinion. mybe you can try to "format" the card via the recovery.

How would I check this? yep, its seems to be the issue for my opinion. mybe you can try to "format" the card via the recovery. Is there a way to format just one of the partitions rather than the whole thing? I did this (format the whole thing) only 4 or 5 days back, as I was having permission troubles when using A2SD... which was likely linked to the issues I'm having now. At £30 for a 16gb Class 6 card from Amazon, I may just do that... although, I only use 3gb of my 8 as it stands now!

I get this exact message every time I try to flash without a wipe - if you wipe, everything will work just fine. I posted here http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=1190603 about how to get around the wipe by flashing the data.img from your nandroid straight after installing ROM Dayz xxx
Guest AndyCr15 Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 Thanks Dayzee. This has worked... now I just can't flash as I think A2SD has issues with the partition it stores apps on :D I'll flash a ROM with no A2SD on I guess, until my new 16gig card comes from Amazon :D
Guest AndyCr15 Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 I noticed a couple other folks get this error now, so it's not just me - Copying files... E:Failure at line 3: copy_dir PACKAGE:data DATA: Installation aborted. I used your work around for a little while Dayzee, but I seemed to have issues with some apps not working properly (like Google Maps stuck at 3.4) I would love to be able to flash ROM's back over the top without wiping again, that is one of the strong points for me of Android. Anyone any idea what causes this error?
