Which ROM are you using with your Nexus One?

The Nexus One is my first Android device. I've been an iPhone guy since the first day the first model went on sale, and have had each of the iPhones on opening day since.

I have to say the Nexus One mostly puts the iPhone family to shame, even if you're an old jailbreaker like me.

One of the best things about Android, which you obviously know if you're on this forum, is of course the ability to use modded ROMs. That's also one of the worst things for noobs to the Android community. There's so many choices, and sometimes not a lot of discussion about the differences and benefits of one over the other.

So, my question is, which ROM are you using on your Nexus One, and why?

I'm not looking for a fight over what's best. I'm genuinely curious about which ROM you like best, and what the reasoning is.

I'm currently on Cyanogen 5.0.2 baked here on MoDaCo. The only reason was I'd heard of Cyanogen even before being interested in an Android phone.

I've just baked an MCR 1.6 ROM and chances are I'll flash it sometime this afternoon to see for myself any obvious differences

If there's a similar thread I missed, point me in that direction, otherwise, chime in with your opinion, and hit the poll answers if you don't mind.

Thanks.

Eagerly looking forward to the Desire rom and can't wait for a release but am prepared to wait for it unlike some over at XDA....

I am currently using MCR 1.6 as imho it's more responsive than Cyanogen's and have installed the HTC-IME as it is a great keyboard.

Must admit, these boards seem to have a more mature membership.

My ROM actually is not listed. I am running Enomthers TheOfficial Nexus One v1.6.1. But it's not listed?

Runs very smooth. No issues at all. The anticipation for the Sense UI is killing me.

I just added it. Hadn't heard of it, but that was one of my points, so many out there! Thanks.

I personally prefer MCR 1.6 but kinda switch back and forth between MCR 1.6 and CM5.02N1 kitchen. I am back to CM5.02 kitchen now mainly for the 2/18 updated moreundervolt kernel to save battery. I noticed Paul would be interested to incorporate the undervolt feature into his MCR kernel in the near future, which would be wonderful.

I am running Enomther's TheOfficial Nexus1 1.6.1, Cyanogen recovered memory kernel, with HTC IME (thank's Paul) as well. Enomther's ROMs are not bleeding edge, but just a finetuned piece of work. I replaced my Blackberry with the HTC Magic last year. I was running the HTC Sense UI - as the HTC mail client offered the most complete Exchange support. Now I have the N1 and I run Enomther's 1.6.1 ROM as it comes with MotCAL (exchange calendar) and CorGAL (Exchange Global Address List). These APKs Force Close on Cyanogen - but work on Enomther's. Everything else just works - no force closes, no reboots. Very stable for everyday use.

Switched to MCR 1.6 for the Moment, seems faster (not al lot, but a bit).

Using MCR 1.6 at the moment, mainly because I believe it has much better battery life than Cyanogens. It's possibly a little faster too.

Would be very interested if Paul puts in the undervolt settings to his ROM, the battery could maybe last through a second day with only light use :D

I'm back using Cyanogen's ROM.

The lack of options in 'favorites' was a big sticking point with me.

It seems to be working just fine actually :D
