Guest is77gal Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 Since I believe that starting another topic would be useless since here have been discussed pros and cons of N1 and Desire I would kindly appreciate if the users of N1 could tell me what their biggest problems with N1 are(I`m thinking of switching from O2 to N1/Desire). I`ve read about the fact that apps can`t be installed on storage card and that there is a back way to this. I`ve heard many people say that the N1 is so much better than the O2 or HD2 and so, but no one gives explicit motives for this, motives that could help some one like make up his mind. My mother has an HD2(freaky) and although it`s pretty i don`t enjoy the sense cause it`s a bit to fragmented, having the options so separated(even if it`s convenient) and thus I like more the O2 today screen. So...what do you hate about the N1(the idiotic mistakes made by manufacturers)? Is it storage, lag, apps, customization, ease of use? Also what are the error messages that you encountered? Are they serious, how did they affect the usage of the device and how did you fix the problem(reflash)?

I am lucky enough to have both a HD2 and a Nexus at the moment as I wanted to compare the two and then sell the loser. The HD2 screen is great and the hardware is very nice but once you get beyond Sense you end up dropping back to Windows Mobile which frankly is ancient, you get lots of horrible drop down boxes which are not at all finger friendly and a pain to use. The number of apps is large but you have to find them yourself and many are not finger friendly again because only the HD2 doesn't come without a stylus. The Nexus screen is smaller but the colours are much richer and it seems much brighter and has a better viewing angle, the hardware is lovely with the metal frame and just feels right in the hand I would describe it like holding a warm pebble! The app store had free applications for everything I wanted to do and they installed in seconds, Profile settings, BBC iplayer, task etc etc and of course if you are a gmail user the intergration is perfect. All of my Google Apps info, calendars, contacts and mail all sync seamlessly in the background (apart from tasks bizarrely and you need a 3rd party app) As ever it depends on what you need, if you are an exchange user the HD2 may be better for you but android is clearly newer and much slicker and until Windows Phone 7 comes along at the end of the year this is likely to stay that way. Personally looking forward to Paul's Desire ROM with Sense for the Nexus and going to be selling the HD2 soon. If you have any specific questions I would be happy to help but as an Android user for only two days I'm hardly an expert :D PS: Two days of fiddling and installing and no crashing and the N1 is still very quick
