Ok so I was trying Angio's Custom Eclair ROM yesterday and that all worked fine, but I decided it was a bit too buggy for me so I was going to reflash with an older rom.

long story short, something went wrong with the acer download tool

it suddonly said the phone wasn't connected while it was in the middle of the flash :D

and now I can't turn my phone on, or even get into the boot loader :D

the phone vibrates as it would you normally turn your phone on, but all I can see is a very faint acer logo

even trying to boot into the bootloader, the phone vibrates twice (as it does for that) but still only a very faint logo

if I plug it into the usb port, and run the acer download tool, it says the phone is connected in AMSS mode??

but I can still do nothing

does anyone have any ideas???

try holding volume up + power + camera

it will vibrate twice

now remove the battery and place it back in

now hold camera and power

will boot into fastboot (make sure you connect USB after you hold camera and power)

I got it fixed too :D

The Liquid has a special key combo where it is in a passive mode.

We got a development tool from our source which allowed us to reflash the SPL sectors in the NAND.

You can compare it with the iPhone's DFU-Mode.

Unfortunately we are not allowed to release it

Just don't flash Acer .bins you don't know :D

You might be able to talk with him and get some "help"

I had the same problem and I did that :

I've downloaded the original .bin (you can downloaded the 2.0 here :http://acer-liquid.fr/downloads/ACER_Liquid_2.000.16_EMEA_GEN1.bin ) then, i've install it with Acer download tool. Now, you have an original Acer Liquid with 2.0 (but, I advise you to use after that, Angio's Rom 1.5.1)

Sorry for my bad english, and I hope I helped you.

Keep clear that in the 2.000.16 bin, it is still Android 1.6 Donut and not Android 2.1 or 2.0 Eclair, the bin name has nothing to do with Android version...

but it seems to have worked the 3rd time I tried flashing the phone with the acer tool?

not sure why but it kept stopping when I went to flash it

but I think it had something to do with me running windows 7?

but I just went to flash it again, and it went all the way through, but didn't entyer the bootloader??

but I turned the phone on and it booted up!

That is pretty much what happened to me.

It got stuck at the amss stuff, rebooted a few times, tried bootloader and it went in.

i'm using the tool with win7 x64, so far flashing is successful, so don't think it is a system stuff...

I'm using the tool under Windows 7 on VMWare Fusion on a MacBook Pro and it worked flawlessly many times, I don't think the OS is the cause of bad flashes :D

For Vista/Win7 User, please right-click and run Acer Tool with Admin permission.
