Guest santoo Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 hi everyone, has anyone got KIES to work - either via pc or b7610? i can get it to run on pc quite fine, even download apps, but it won't recognize my b7610 (stock wm 6.1 rom - no problems in samsung NPS!), so i can't install downloaded programs on the mobile... the mobile client (i've tried the one for the i900, as i couldn't find one for the b7610) crashes on start-up. alternatively: does anyone know, how to use .app files? (the format in which KIES downloads applications) they don't seem to be archives (at least not zipped/rared/aced/cabed) and they don't seem to be (renamed) executables either... TIA!

TIA! 1. b7610 is not yet supported by samsung appstore thus it is not supported/reckognized by kies (simple and stupid but it is) 2. the instalator files are specially protected as not to port apps obtained with kies to ther phones (mind that not all of them are free) ergo.. until samsung officialy puts support for b7610 it's rather no go [of course you can always try set you device as i8000, download the apps and the try to find the way how to install them, probably the part respnsible for intalling is one of the apps in kies folder itself]
Guest santoo Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 thanks for the info, stn! [of course you can always try set you device as i8000, download the apps and the try to find the way how to install them, probably the part respnsible for intalling is one of the apps in kies folder itself] good idea, hadn't thought about that. might have to look into this...
Guest FiredFox Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 thanks for the info, stn! good idea, hadn't thought about that. might have to look into this... How can we make the B7610 appear as I8000? It really sucks that Samsung is treating the B7610 as a second fiddle to the I8000. They are both similarly priced and meant for the demanding user. I am very disappointed with Samsung so far. I had really enjoyed my previous HTC phones.
Guest Sajmonn Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 (edited) Any news about that? Edit: I have found, that Kies application is on i8000 installed = client for desktop software also? If anyone can upload this software from i8000 ... maybe will be solution? Edited May 18, 2010 by Sajmonn
